My journey with Quezalteca began back in 2014, while I was working at 4am Saatchi & Saatchi. I was responsible for illustrating the brand’s new labels entirely from scratch. Our goal was to create a visual identity that felt proudly Guatemalan—full of color, culture, and character. That artwork became the face of a new era for the brand. To launch it, I hand-painted an 8-meter mural on Avenida Reforma, turning the label into a living piece of the city.

Five years later, in 2019, we crossed paths again, this time through BBDO. The mission was to relaunch Quezalteca with a refreshed attitude: bold, playful, and rooted in modern chapín identity. I worked as art and photography director on two of its most iconic campaigns: Purrún de la Gran Patria and Mango Chapín. I was also part of the writing team, shaping the tone and narrative that helped bring the brand’s personality to life.

Working with Quezalteca has been one of those rare projects that stays with you, not just because of the creative challenge, but because of its cultural significance. Quezalteca it’s a celebration of how Guatemala gathers, laughs, and tells its story.

Purrún de la Gran Patria

Launched during Guatemala’s Independence Month, this campaign celebrated national pride with music, dance, and flavor. We created this campaign in BBDO Guatemala and produced the ad with Maguiver, it featured a catchy jingle by Diego Ález and vocals by Mr. Fer (local artists)

I worked as Art and Photography Director and contributed to the scriptwriting. The campaign included a music video, digital activations, and live events, highlighting the joy of being chapín with Quezalteca’s vibrant personality at the center.

Mango Chapín

Launched in early 2020, Mango Chapín was introduced as a vibrant addition to Quezalteca's flavored aguardiente lineup. This campaign highlighted the fusion of natural mango concentrate, Quezalteca Especial, and toasted pepitoria extract, aiming to capture the essence of Guatemalan summer traditions.

As part of the creative team at BBDO Guatemala, I contributed to the art direction and visual storytelling of the campaign. Our goal was to resonate with the youthful spirit of Guatemalans, emphasizing freshness, cultural pride, and the joy of celebration.
